Winter Information (Nov. - April)
Elevation: 8500 ft.

Roads: Access to all cabins is via dirt/gravel roads. During winter, from November to April, a 4x4 vehicle is REQUIRED for access. Please do not travel during winter storms.

Before You Go:

1. Check Live Road Conditions: Download Utah's UDot app and view live road conditions with weather cams. Select "layers," then choose "Snow plows" and "lane or road closures." You can zoom into Hwy 14 and view live cameras.

2. Check Weather: Use Wunderground's website for weather updates in zip code 84762.

Winter Driving Tips:

-
The county plows clear roads in the mornings, but they do not plow at night.
-
The drive to the cabin from the Village is on snow-covered gravel roads, which can be slippery in freezing conditions or covered with fresh snow.
-
Cell service may not be available in the area, so come prepared.

Important Reminders:

-
4x4 vehicles are REQUIRED during winter months, and we recommend carrying chains.
-
If you need to use chains, put them on in a safe, flat area before attempting any hills.
-
Do not block roads, especially Movie Ranch/Meadow Ranch, as it is the only access to the community.
-
Two-wheel-drive vehicles are not suitable for winter travel.

Snow Removal:
-
If it snows 6" or more during your stay, your driveway will be blown out, but you are responsible for clearing snow around your car and deck. A shovel is provided in the cabin.
-
Snow plows prioritize main roads, residents, and elders before clearing cabin driveways.

Power Outages:
-
In the event of a power outage, the wood stove is the only source of heat, but we do not provide wood or fire starters. Please plan accordingly.

Plan Ahead:
-
Prepare for winter weather and have necessary provisions; there are no Uber, Uber Eats, or food delivery services in the area.
-
There are limited tow truck services, and local assistance may be limited during dark hours.
-
The village has few winter amenities, so plan accordingly for an enjoyable vacation.
